India's Pluses and Minuses

India is definitely a great country and one of the emerging powers of the world. As the second most populated country in the world, India is trying to capitalize on its man power to come to the level of richer countries in Asia. It is home to a lot of brainy young people and has been producing world class engineers, doctors and scientists since long. India is the seventh largest country and is rich in minerals, especially iron. Though deforestation is a concern, one can see beautiful scenes as shown in the picture above. Indian culture is based on family system that is stronger than in other countries. But as the country advances, people have started adopting new ways. Though the country has a very old and well defined spiritual base, culture is slowly changing now. With the advent of the internet, all kinds of online businesses are thriving and Indians are now in all the entertainment businesses that were once considered immoral. A lot of internet businesses operate by international laws and therefore it is not easy to control them. The majority of the population belong to Hindu religion that is based on karma and reincarnation. Good deeds bring good rsults and bad deeds bring bad. It is upto a person to choose and shape his destiny. Sex was a taboo but now Indians have started enjoying without much constraint. It is estimated that sex industry in the country has an annual turnover of 40000 million Indian rupees. As it is an easy method of inviting money, some people consider it a legitimate way to overcome poverty. The gap between the rich and the poor is widening in the mainstream. India is home to some of the richest people in the world but the majority are middle class. Even with all these disparities India survives and thousands of foreign tourists visit India to experience the diverse social and cultural aspects of the country.
